There are two licensing systems in place which are applicable to the importation of sheepmeat and goatmeat
These are the Standard Import Regime and the Title II B Non-Country-Specific Quota scheme.
The Standard Import Regime covers basic imports and is not controlled by a quota however, there is a high import duty rate. The regime applies to products which fall under the following CN Codes:
02109011
02109019
16029072
16029076
This scheme enables the trade to apply for an import licence for sheepmeat and goatmeat products on a quarterly basis from certain countries of origin.
The application periods for this scheme are the first ten days of January, April, July and September.
